Hannah Montana is a Disney Channel musical comedy series that ran from 2006 to 2011, starring Miley Cyrus as Miley Stewart, a teenager living a double life as pop star Hannah Montana. The show was a ratings phenomenon, launched Cyrus as a teen idol and produced chart-topping soundtracks and a hit film.
Dolly Parton — Cyrus' real-life godmother — played the recurring role of "Aunt Dolly," Miley Stewart's godmother on screen too, introducing the country legend to a whole generation of young fans and cementing the pair's public bond.
