Walter Hill is the American film director whose 1979 movie The Warriors turned Sol Yurick’s novel into a neon-soaked cult classic about a gang fighting its way home across New York. The film’s stylised world — gang colours, taunts and one long night — is the foundation for Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis’s stage musical Warriors, which opens on Broadway in April 2027.
