Daniel Pinkwater is an American author celebrated for his whimsical children’s and young adult books, written in a voice that treats young readers as delightfully odd individuals. His novel Lizard Music, about a boy who discovers a secret broadcast of lizards playing otherworldly music, has been adapted into a film by Benny Safdie starring Dwayne Johnson as The Chicken Man. The adaptation, filmed in Brooklyn in 2026, brings Pinkwater’s gentle absurdity to the screen with an acclaimed cast.
