A coming-of-age story follows a young protagonist whose experiences mark the passage from childhood toward maturity. Daniel Pinkwater’s Lizard Music is a gentle, eccentric example: a boy who discovers a secret late-night broadcast of lizards playing otherworldly music must decide what the wonder means. Benny Safdie’s film adaptation, starring Theo Clark Leber as the boy and Dwayne Johnson as the mysterious Chicken Man, filmed its Brooklyn scenes in October 2026 to wide public curiosity.
