The Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade is an annual New York City tradition, held in 2026 for the 36th time, in which hundreds of dogs parade through the East Village in elaborate costumes while thousands of spectators cheer them on. Part costume contest, part community festival, it has become one of the most photographed Halloween events in America. In 2026 Chrissy Teigen and John Legend led the festivities, lending celebrity wattage to a gloriously local institution.
