Bliss Kolb

Bliss Kolb

Bliss Kolb is the artist behind Molly, the singing-bird automaton at the heart of Kelly Clarkson’s Brooklyn shop feud. According to the store Art of Play, Kolb was willing to sell the piece for $15,000, even though staff told Clarkson the displayed bird itself was not for sale. Kolb’s intricate mechanical creations sit at the boundary between sculpture, clockwork engineering and performance, which helps explain both their prices and their devoted collectors.
