Films and series set in an earlier era, a genre in which Jonathan Bailey has repeatedly excelled, from Regency romance to mid-century political drama. Costume work rewards posture, diction and restraint, all Bailey strengths developed on stage. His period-drama pedigree is a large part of why his heartthrob image carries a classic, old-Hollywood quality that casting directors and magazine editors both prize.
