Nerve Damage

Nerve damage is injury or disease affecting the nerves that carry signals between the brain, spinal cord and body. It can cause numbness, tingling, burning pain, weakness, balance problems and loss of coordination, depending on which nerves are involved. Causes include diabetes, autoimmune disease, infection, injury and some medications. Some nerve damage heals slowly over time, while other forms are permanent and managed through treatment and rehabilitation.
