The Brooklyn Nets are New York's NBA franchise, based at Barclays Center. In March 2021, after his Detroit buyout, Blake Griffin joined the Nets' star-studded roster alongside Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving — reinventing himself from franchise centerpiece to beloved role player who set screens, took charges and threw down his first dunks in years during the 2021 playoffs. His two Brooklyn seasons revived his reputation as one of the league's best teammates.
Fans embraced the reinvention, chanting his name at Barclays Center during the Nets' 2021 playoff run.
