Children’s literature is the body of books written for young readers, ranging from picture books to novels that treat childhood as a serious and imaginative country. Daniel Pinkwater’s Lizard Music is a cherished example: a boy discovers a secret late-night broadcast of lizards playing otherworldly music. Its film adaptation by Benny Safdie, starring Dwayne Johnson as The Chicken Man and filmed in Brooklyn in 2026, shows how a beloved children’s story can anchor an ambitious, adult-directed production.
