An executive producer is one of the most senior people behind a television or film production, responsible for guiding the project creatively and helping bring its financing, team and vision together. On the docuseries New Wave, that role belongs to RJ Cutler, an acclaimed filmmaker known for respected documentary work. Working with director Doug Triola, the executive producer helps shape how the story of new wave music, from 1977 to 1987, reaches the screen.
