Pentatonix is a Grammy-winning American a cappella group formed in Arlington, Texas, in 2011, known for intricate vocal arrangements of pop hits and originals. In 2016, the group recorded an a cappella version of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" with Parton herself singing lead — a cross-generational collaboration that won the Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

The recording stands as one of the most celebrated modern versions of the song, and part of the "Jolene" tradition that Parton's goddaughter Miley Cyrus has carried through her own career.
