Prince William (born 1982), Prince of Wales, is the heir to the British throne. At the October 2026 state visit of Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, William greeted the Sultan at his London residence on behalf of King Charles and escorted him to Windsor for the official welcome. The senior, solo duties he now performs at state occasions mark his growing centrality to the monarchy’s ceremonial future.
