The Royal Dais is the ceremonial platform on Datchet Road in Windsor from which the monarch formally welcomes a state visitor before the carriage procession to the castle. At the October 2026 Oman visit, King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Kate received Sultan Haitham there. The dais ceremony, watched by crowds and cameras, is the moment a state visit officially begins in full public view.
