A stunt double is a trained performer who stands in for an actor during dangerous or physically demanding scenes. Stunt doubles specialize in falls, fights, driving and other hazardous work, allowing films to achieve realism without risking their stars. Some productions, however, pride themselves on actors performing their own action.
