A tight end is an American football position that blends the jobs of receiver and blocker, lining up beside the offensive line and catching passes over the middle of the field. Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs is widely regarded as one of the greatest tight ends ever. His 24-yard reception against the Chargers on Oct. 18, 2026, showed why: strength after the catch, rolling toward the 20-yard line.
