Tompkins Square Park

Tompkins Square Park

Tompkins Square Park is a beloved green space in Manhattan’s East Village, known for its elm trees, dog runs, playgrounds and a long history as a gathering point for artists, activists and neighbors. Since 1990 it has hosted the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade, which grew from a local fundraiser into one of New York’s most famous autumn traditions. The park’s two dog runs make it a year-round capital of city dog culture, not just a Halloween stage.
