The U.S. Navy is the maritime branch of the American armed forces, and its sailors are frequent audiences for visiting performers traveling to ships and bases around the world. Clint Black’s 2002 rehearsal aboard the USS Truman, photographed by Navy personnel, reflects the close relationship between country music and the military community throughout his career. Those performances remain a point of pride in his official biography.
