The Port Authority Police Department is the law enforcement agency of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, responsible for policing the region’s airports, including JFK, as well as bridges, tunnels and ports. Its officers respond to incidents aboard aircraft on the ground and make arrests at terminals. Reports of the October 2026 incident say a Port Authority officer was also allegedly assaulted during the response to the flight carrying Selma Blair.
