Bollywood is the popular name for Mumbai’s Hindi-language film industry, one of the largest and most prolific cinemas in the world, famous for music, melodrama and stars of near-mythic stature. Priyanka Chopra became one of its defining leading ladies of the 2000s and 2010s, winning a National Film Award and headlining hits before attempting what few Bollywood stars had managed: a full Hollywood career. Her InStyle honor in 2026 celebrated a star who never had to leave one industry behind to conquer another.
