Disability Advocacy

Disability Advocacy

Disability advocacy is the work of promoting the rights, visibility and inclusion of people with disabilities, from accessible design to fair treatment in public life. Selma Blair became a prominent voice in this space after her 2018 MS diagnosis, walking red carpets with a cane, documenting treatment in the documentary Introducing, Selma Blair, and joining an Americans with Disabilities Act celebration at the White House in 2023. Her advocacy is why supporters urge context and care in covering her health.
