Gypsy Rose Blanchard is expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support she has received following the sudden death of her partner, Ken Urker.

The 35-year-old shared a heartfelt message on Instagram Stories on Oct. 5, thanking followers for their love, prayers and condolences. She explained that while she may not be able to respond to every message personally, she has seen the support and deeply appreciates everyone who has reached out during this difficult time.

Blanchard is also using her platform to advocate for what she calls “Kenan’s Law,” encouraging followers to sign and share a petition aimed at improving how social media companies respond to repeated harassment reports.

She shared the petition on Oct. 4 and said the proposal is intended to push platforms toward stronger action when users repeatedly report targeted harassment.

Blanchard told PEOPLE that she has not yet presented the idea to a formal committee, but she has contacted a New Orleans lawyer to help refine the proposal and determine what steps could come next.

Her message followed the death of Ken Urker, who died on his 34th birthday, Oct. 1, at his home in Louisiana.

According to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a residence in Raceland at about 6:15 p.m. and found Urker deceased when they arrived.

The sheriff’s office report states that investigators found syringes and a spoon near a brown, powder-like substance in the bathroom. Authorities also reported finding another syringe, two shot glasses and a handgun on a nightstand near the bed.

Officials have not established those items as the cause of Urker’s death, so the circumstances should be described as part of the ongoing investigation rather than as a confirmed explanation.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard says she was left in disbelief following the death of her partner, Ken Urker.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Blanchard said Urker had not been in a good state of mind recently and had been drinking heavily as a way of coping.

The pair shared daughter Aurora, whom they welcomed in 2024 after rekindling their relationship. Their history stretched back several years: they first became engaged in 2018

Following Ken Urker’s death and the intense online discussion surrounding it, Gypsy Rose Blanchard has launched a campaign against online harassment called “Kenan’s Law.”

Blanchard said that before Urker’s death, he had faced significant online scrutiny that she believed had escalated into targeted harassment and cyberbullying. According to her, repeated reports were submitted across multiple social media platforms, but many were reportedly dismissed as not violating platform rules.

She says the experience has motivated her to push for stronger systems for handling repeated harassment complaints. Blanchard described the campaign as an effort to turn her grief into advocacy and create better protections for people who feel their concerns are being ignored online.
