The people have spoken — more than a quarter of a million of them. PEOPLE revealed the winners of its 2026 Sexiest Man Alive Readers’ Choice Poll on Tuesday, October 20, closing a vote that drew over 250,000 ballots and more than 600 comments across 14 categories. From silver foxes to cat dads, fake hockey players to ReelShort stars, this year’s results are a glorious map of exactly who the internet is crushing on right now.
Unlike the main title, which is chosen by editors, every winner here was picked by readers — and the readers, it turns out, have range, humour and extremely strong opinions about morning television.
Melvin Takes the Morning
The Today Show has bragging rights for the year. Craig Melvin was voted Sexiest Morning Show Host, seeing off Gio Benitez, Vladimir Duthiers and Michael Strahan in one of the poll’s most stacked fields. Melvin’s campaign had serious backing: his Today co-workers championed him on air, his wife joined the effort, and his fans turned out in the kind of numbers that suggest breakfast television loyalty is a force of nature.
There is a logic to the result. Morning hosts are the most familiar faces in America — present at breakfast tables and kitchen counters five days a week. A fan vote about affection was always likely to crown the man millions start their day with.

Stephen Colbert is officially the Sexiest Silver Fox of 2026, beating Sam Champion, Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper. His grey Emmys beard did much of the campaigning for him, becoming a minor cultural event in its own right — which makes it all the funnier that Colbert shaved it off just days later, live in spirit if not in fact, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
The beard is gone. The title is forever. Colbert’s win confirms something the poll proves annually: in a readers’ vote, wit is a physical attribute, and distinguished grey, worn with total self-possession, beats almost everything else on the ballot.
Kelce the Cat Dad, and Other Perfect Results
In perhaps the most on-brand result of the year, Travis Kelce was voted Sexiest Cat Dad, ahead of Dolph Lundgren, MGK and Paul Hollywood. The Chiefs star’s public persona — fearsome on the field, openly soft-hearted about his pets off it — was precision-engineered for this category, and voters responded accordingly.
Elsewhere, the results kept delivering. Belmont Cameli skated off with Sexiest Fake Hockey Player for Off Campus, over Hudson Williams, Connor Storrie and Stephen Kalyn. Bridgerton’s Victor Alli was crowned Sexiest Period Drama Dreamboat, ahead of Dónal Finn, Morgan Spector and Jack Lowden. Levi McConaughey became Sexiest Son of an SMA, following his father Matthew into the franchise’s history books.

Pasha Pashkov took Sexiest DWTS Pro, learning of the honour in the glare of live television season. Luke Grimes was voted Sexiest TV Cowboy for Marshals, outdrawing Cole Hauser, Benjamin Ayres and Warren Christie. And in the result with the best family storyline in the poll, Joaquin Consuelos won Sexiest Broadway Debut for Death of a Salesman — becoming the third man in his family, after his father Mark and brother Michael, to hold a PEOPLE Sexiest title.
Jack Innanen was named Sexiest TikTok Star over the Sturniolo Triplets, Jackson Olson and Sammy Batchelder, while Caleb McDaniel took Sexiest Love Island-er and Chase Mattson claimed Sexiest ReelShort Star — two categories that would have been unimaginable a decade ago and now feel essential.
The Throwback and the World Cup Star
Nostalgia voted early and often. Jensen Ackles was crowned Sexiest Y2K Throwback, defeating James Lafferty, Adam Brody and Penn Badgley on the strength of one of the most loyal fandoms in television. And England’s Jude Bellingham was voted Sexiest World Cup Star, ahead of Erling Haaland, Ferran Torres and Christian Pulisic — proof, if any were needed, that football’s biggest names now compete in the same popularity arena as Hollywood’s.
Add it up and the Quarter-Million Votes produced a winners’ list no editor would have dared assemble: a late-night host, a tight end, a morning anchor, a ballroom pro, a reality star and a footballer, all sexiest in something, all chosen by the only electorate that never lies — the fans, voting with their whole hearts. Whether your favourite won or was robbed, the Fan Vote has delivered its verdict for 2026, and the arguments can now begin in earnest until next year’s ballot opens.

Part of the results’ charm is the company the winners keep. A single list that can hold a morning anchor, a late-night institution, an NFL star, a ballroom professional, a Bridgerton dreamboat and a vertical-drama newcomer is not really a ranking at all — it is a census of modern fame, taken by the only method that counts heads honestly. Every category won its own little election, with its own turnout, its own campaigning and its own heartbroken runners-up.
The campaigning, increasingly, is half the entertainment. Studios of morning shows turned into campaign headquarters; fandoms organised ballot drives with military precision; families were mobilised, and in one famous case a mother cheerfully defected to a rival. By the time the results landed, the winners had not merely been selected — they had been through something together with their voters, and the victory laps felt earned in a way a jury prize rarely does.
PEOPLE’s editors, for their part, can only watch the readers’ institution grow. Fourteen categories produced fourteen acceptance moments, fourteen fanbases in full voice and one unavoidable conclusion: the poll is no longer the warm-up act for the main announcement. For a growing share of the audience, it is the announcement.
